Trump denies ordering Vance to seek talks with Iran
The Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials and people familiar with the matter, that Vice President JD Vance sent a letter to Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, seeking to restart talks. Asked whether he had ordered Vance to make the contact, President Donald Trump denied it and said the communication concerned medical supplies for Iran. The report followed earlier WSJ reporting that the US had warned several Arab states of the Persian Gulf to prepare for a short, intense military offensive against Iran after the November midterms.
