Reuters: Qatari mediators travel to Tehran with US coordination
Radio Zamaneh, citing Reuters, reported that a delegation of Qatari mediators traveled to Tehran with US coordination to try to ease regional tensions. The visit comes amid heightened Iran-US military threats and a deadlock in talks over reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting the naval blockade of Iranian ports and conditions for ending the war; the report said Donald Trump again raised the possibility of a military attack and Tehran warned of retaliation. Iranian outlets, citing informed sources, said a Qatari diplomatic delegation arrived in Tehran to prevent further escalation, and that Iran had conveyed its demands and red lines to mediators.
