Trump says US 'had to' attack Iran and war will end soon
US President Donald Trump said the war with Iran “is going to get wrapped up soon” but did not say how, in a radio interview ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, Reuters reported. He said Washington needed a guarantee that Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon and that the US would not strike Iran before the elections. Iranian outlets also quoted him as saying Washington had been forced to attack Iran to prevent it from getting a nuclear weapon; that claim was not independently verified.
