Report: Arab states of Persian Gulf rethink trillion-dollar defense
The International Institute for Strategic Studies says the Arab states of the Persian Gulf must reconfigure their trillion-dollar defenses after Iranian drone and missile attacks, and questions the continued value of US bases. The report cites 4,670 one-way attack drones and more than 1,400 ballistic missiles launched in the weeks before the 8 April ceasefire, with nearly half aimed at the United Arab Emirates, and cites one estimate putting damage to energy infrastructure as high as $58bn.
