Electronics reach Iran despite sanctions, but prices soar
New smartphones and other electronics are reaching Iran despite international sanctions and disrupted trade routes, but government registration fees and import costs have pushed prices beyond many Iranians’ reach, Al Jazeera English reported. A Tehran trader said most phones are now smuggled in through northern Iraq after the war and a UAE trade halt complicated imports.
