Central Bank: Nearly 85% of Iran business loans fund operations
The Central Bank of Iran reported that banks issued about 9,241 trillion tomans in loans in the first seven months of the Iranian year, with 84.6 percent of business lending going to working capital and 88.7 percent in industry and mining. According to NIAC Insights, total lending rose 65.9 percent from a year earlier, but much of the increase may reflect higher business costs rather than expanded activity.
