US voters head to polls amid Iran war and record fuel prices
Americans voted Tuesday as Republicans braced for a defeat that could leave both chambers of Congress in Democratic hands, with record fuel prices tied to the US war on Iran and the disruption of the Strait of Hormuz among voters' top concerns, Responsible Statecraft reported. Gasoline averaged $4.12 a gallon and diesel $6.28 on election day, about 50% higher than before the war, the outlet said.
