Oil tops $114 as tanker attacks raise Iran escalation fears
Oil prices rose more than 3%, with Brent at $114.12 a barrel, as attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and expectations of a possible new US-Israeli strike on Iran after the US midterms raised fears of escalation. UKMTO said a tanker was hit by two explosive devices from a small boat near Khasab, Oman, causing a fire; the IRGC Navy claimed attacks on three tankers over unauthorized transits.
