Iran faces winter gas gap of 400 million cubic meters, official says
With winter approaching, warnings about gas and electricity shortages in Iran have intensified after the recent war damaged energy infrastructure, BBC Persian reported. The head of the National Iranian Gas Company said there is a gap of about 400 million cubic meters at peak consumption this year, according to Asr-e Iran, and said lowering home temperatures by one degree could help. ISNA reported that 11 provinces are expected to face gas restrictions, while some damaged capacity has been restored, and a Lorestan provincial official said household gas should be kept on as much as possible, with industrial cuts only if needed and coordinated to limit harm to jobs and production.
