Retirees and workers protest across Iran over pay and benefits
Retirees from Social Security and the steel industry held protest gatherings in Tehran, Isfahan, Rasht, Shush and Ahvaz on Sunday, October 25, demanding pension increases in line with inflation and better health services, according to Radio Zamaneh. On the same day, workers at Azadi Stadium protested unpaid wages and insurance contributions, and reports emerged that 24 workers at the Aq-Darreh gold mine had lost their jobs.
