Wounded Tehran protester: feigning death saved me from kill shot
Radio Zamaneh reported that a wounded protester identified as Parviz, shot twice on the night of January 8, 2026 in Tehran, survived by pretending to be dead among bodies on the ground so officers would not fire a coup de grâce. According to the report, he heard one officer say “let’s finish him” while another argued to leave him to die from blood loss. Months later he is living with deep wounds, heavy medical costs and unanswered questions.
