Iranian State Media Compare French Protests With Domestic Unrest
Iranian state-aligned media have used the recent protests in France to emphasize the role of foreign elements and protester violence, seeking to reinforce their own narrative of the Dey 1404 protests, a narrative that families of those killed and government critics dispute, BBC Persian reported. IRIB's news channel also broadcast live footage of the French protests, drawing reactions on social media, as France deployed 70,000 police and gendarmerie officers and, according to the French interior minister, arrested 135 people.
