Netanyahu claims Iran will attack before US midterms
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israel has intelligence showing Iran will attack before the US midterm elections, Donya-e-Eqtesad reported. He also denied reports that Donald Trump blocked an Israeli attack on Iran this month; BBC Persian, citing the Financial Times, said the Israeli military was ready for strikes on October 10 and 11 but Trump decided no attack would take place before the midterms. Donya-e-Eqtesad, citing The Atlantic and CNN reports that cited US officials, said US strikes could come immediately after the midterms, with possible targets including missiles, drones, energy and nuclear facilities and use of the MOAB under consideration. ISNA, citing a Hebrew-language outlet, reported criticism inside the Israeli army and security establishment of Netanyahu's claims about Iran; the reports and claims have not been independently verified.
